Fertility, Family and Work-Life Reconciliation - Post Communist Developments in the Czech Republic je sociologickou a demografickou konceptualizací tématu plodnosti a rodiny. Text přestaví hlavní teoretická hlediska vysvětlující změny v reprodukčním chování a rodině. Ačkoli vysvětlování faktorů determinujících reprodukční chování v současných moderních společnostech přineslo postupně řadu teorií, někdy i poměrně protichůdných, tato práce se zabývá nově rozvinutou teorií založenou na preferenci životního stylu. Zdůrazňuje roli osobních preferencí při vysvětlování nízké úrovně plodnosti a změn rodinného systému. Zastřešující teoretický a konceptuální rámec, který je představen v této práci, je inspirován třemi teoretickými perspektivami: preferenční teorie Hakimové (2000, 2003), teorie konfliktních preferencí formulovanou Voasem (2003) a teorie plánovaného chování Ajzena (1991, 2010), a Ajzena a Fishbeina (1980, 2005). Fertility, Family and Work-Life Reconciliation - Post Communist Developments in the Czech Republic is a sociological and demographic conceptualization of fertility and family decision making process. The work at hand examines the main theoretical perspectives employed in studying the changes in reproductive behaviour and family formation process. Although many explanations have been offered for these changes, the present paper works with newly-developed theories based on ideational factors and life-style preferences. It emphasizes the role of personal preferences in explaining the present patterns in fertility and family system, arguing that preferences may influence to a certain extent final behaviour. The overarching framework that is introduced in the present thesis is inspired by three theoretical perspectives: the life-style preferences framework formulated by Hakim (2000, 2003), conflicting preferences theory developed by Voas (2003)... |
