Analyzovaný sborník je jednou z prvních z celé řady prací, které prezentují a interpretují dané diskuze ve smyslu feministických debat mezi ‚Východem‘ a ‚Západem‘. Název práce Feminismus na Východě a na Západě? odkazuje ke stati „Feminismus na Východě a na Západě“ editorky sborníku Nanette Funk. Malý, ale zásadní rozdíl mezi těmito dvěma tituly - prvním, formulovaným otázkou, a druhým, vyjádřeným tvrzením - shrnuje cíle práce: zpochybnit to, co je samozřejmé v tvrzení Nanette Funk, analyzovat, co toto tvrzení umožnilo, a zkoumat důsledky v kontextu celého sborníku. Analytický přístup práce čerpá z konceptu situovaného vědění (situated knowledges) Donny Haraway a vybraných úvah Michela Fou The thesis Feminism East and West? A Contextualized Analysis of Framings in the Anthology Gender Politics and Post-Communism relates to discussions in the context of feminist theories, women’s and gender studies on how phenomena connected to post-socialist contexts are analytically approached. The analyzed anthology is one of the first of a series of accounts which present and interpret these discussions in terms of feminist ‘East/West’ debates. The title of the thesis - Feminism East and West? - refers to Nanette Funk’s (the anthology’s editor) contribution “Feminism East and West”. The small but crucial difference between these two titles - the first constituting a question, the second a statement - epitomizes the goal of the thesis: to question what has been taken for granted in Funk’s statement, to examine what made this statement possible, and to discuss its implications in the context of the whole anthology.
