Mentální retardace se výrazně demonstruje v symptomatických poruchách řeči, přičemž platí vztah přímé úměry - čím hlubší stupeň mentální retardace, tím těžší porucha řeči. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na význam komunikace v procesu socializace člověka, pozornost je věnována rozvoji řeči ve vztahu k psychickým procesům a otázkám diferenciační schopnosti mozku, zejména fonematické diferenciace. Důraz je kladen především na včasnou diagnostiku a stimulaci řečového rozvoje, a to zejména na kvalitnější orientaci ve zvukové struktuře jazyka, systematické působení jak na rozvoj sluchového vnímání obecně, tak také na rozvoj fonematického sluchu, fonologického a fonematického uvědomování. Jsou to oblasti, v nichž můžeme výrazně pomoci dětem s mentální retardací (zejména lehčími stupni) ke zvládnutí grafické podoby řeči a komunikativních kompetencí. Doctoral thesis deals with the problems of speech development and interpersonal skills of pupils with minor mental retardation. Mental retardation is strongly demonstrated in symptomatic disorder of speech, and there is valid the rule of straight proportion - the higher level of mental retardation, the worse the speech disorder. Theoretical part is concentrated on the meaning of communication in the process of acculturation of a person. The attention is paid the speech development in relation to mental processes and to questions of distinctive ability of the brain, especially to phonemic differentiation. The emphasis is placed on prompt diagnosis and stimulation of speech development, and mainly on better orientation in acoustical sphere of language, systematic impact on both auditory perception in general and development of phonemic hearing, phonological and phonemic awareness.
