Práce se zabývá otázkou, jak charakterizovat jedince, kteří se rozhodli zůstat celoživotně bez potomků v ČR, Polsku a Estonsku. Jaké jsou v těchto sledovaných zemích rozdíly v počtu dobrovolně bezdětných párů mezi jednotlivými věkovými, vzdělanostními, náboženskými skupinami? Jaký existuje vztah mezi preferovanými formami partnerského soužití a plánovanou bezdětností? Jak vnímá dobrovolně bezdětné páry okolí? Jaký je rozdíl mezi hodnotami, které preferují lidé dobrovolně bezdětní a lidé s dětmi? Sekundární analýza mezinárodního souboru PPA II ukázala, že mladí lidé bezdětnost plánují zřídkakdy. Na rozhodování, zda si dítě pořídí či nikoliv, mělo ze sociodemografických faktorů největší vliv pohlaví respondenta - ženy děti plánovaly častěji a náboženské vyznání, především v Polsku. 520 2 9 |a Since the beginning of the 90ties, there happens to arrive so called Second Demographic Transition in the countries of former Eastern Block, which means also in Czech Republic, Poland and Estonia - countries investigated in the thesis. One of the significant features of the transition is increasing number of volutarily childless couples. The thesis deals with the social characteristics of the individuals from Czech Republic, Poland and Estonia, who have decided for lifelong childlessness and asks: "What are the differences among the couples from the countries as to their age, the highest level of education achieved and religion, if any?" "Is there an association between preferred form of couple coexistence and the intention to stay childless?" "What is the social feedback on the childless couples in the countries investigated?"
