| Shrnutí: | Cílem disertace je přispět k pochopení role náboženství v procesu změny politického režimu v Barmě. Jsem si vědoma toho, že existuje mnoho různých podob vztahu mezi náboženstvím a politikou. Tato disertace je zaměřena na jednu konkrétní podobu vztahu náboženství a politiky, a to sice na prostředí občanské společnosti a na vliv, který má v tomto prostředí náboženství na politiku. Občanská společnost je významným hráčem v procesu změny politického režimu, která v Barmě v současné době probíhá. Disertace představuje momenty, kde se náboženství a politika v prostředí občanské společnosti potkávají a kde dochází k interakcím mezi těmito dvěma koncepty. Za účelem identifikace těchto momentů jsem pracovala s kvalitativními daty, konkrétně s rozhovory s členy občanské společnosti v Barmě, terénními poznámkami shromážděnými během času stráveného s respondenty a informacemi z médií. Pomocí tematické analýzy jsem zformulovala čtyři témata, která se během analýzy ukázala být stěžejní. Jedná se o i This PhD thesis aims to contribute to understanding the significance of religion in the process of the political regime change in Burma. There are various forms of relation between religion and politics. However, in order to accomplish the aim, I have chosen one particular. I have focused on civil society (which is an active player in a regime transition) as one of the environments where religion influences the change of political regime. I have located points where religion connects and interacts with the change of political regime within the area of civil society. I have detected those points as themes when conducting a thematic analysis of my data (interviews with civil society members, field notes gathered when spending time with my respondents and media news).
