V teoretické části je objasněn pojmový aparát, popsána specifika vzdělávání žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením a principy podpory profesní orientace s akcentem na specifika vymezené skupiny žáků. V oblasti podpory k volbě povolání diskutujeme možnosti využití multimediálních výukových opor. V empirické a aplikační části je podrobně rozebrána metodologie realizovaného výzkumného šetření mezi učiteli - výchovnými poradci. Výzkum je založen na kvalitativním přístupu s využitím hloubkových rozhovorů. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit charakteristiky profesní orientace a zjistit potřebu a parametry výukové opory pro podporu volby povolání u žáků s lehkou mentální retardací.
