Shrnutí: | The purpose of our study was to identify whether there are any differences in attitudes between heavy and light girls magazines readers. Using a self-constructed questionnaire, we identified 41 heavy and 25 light girls magazines readers in the sample of 170 respondents (M = 12,4 years). Consequently, we compared these two groups in fields of: 1) attitudes towards their own body, 2) attitudes towards relationships, 3) values that they consider important for their lives. Using the SPSS statistic program, we found significant differences between heavy and light readers in all three fields of interest. Heavy viewers were more concerned with appearance beautification and starting relationships with boys than light viewers. For their future, they valued physical characteristics as more important than light viewers, whereas light viewers were more frequently stressing the importance of inner psychological characteristics.
