Práce je vymezená jednak časově ustavením tzv. nové sestavy Pohraniční stráže počátkem roku 1951 a rokem 1955 (kdy dochází ke stažení Sovětské armády z území Rakouska), jednak místně na úsek státní hranice střežený chebskou a znojemskou pohraniční brigádou. This thesis deals with one element of the security services in period after Feb. 1948 in Czechoslovakia, Border Guards, and systems of protecting the state border, which existed at the border with West Germany and Austria in the first half of 50s. The issue is presented using examples of two Border Guards, the 5th brigade in Cheb and 4th brigade in Znojmo, guarding respectively part of the state border with Germany and Austria. The goal is to show similarities and differences in the system of guarding the state border with the two countries. The introduction describes the system of guarding the state border from Feb. 1948 to 1950. The next parts deal with the system that had been installed at the beginning of 1951: the organization point of view, two zones next to state border with a limited access, development of engineer field maintenance systems as an additional aspect which Border Guards used. The last part of the thesis is concerned with attempts to cross the state border. |
